THE NEW YORK TIMES __________________________
Currently being presented by the Two River Theater Company here as a summer offering, a kind of Two River Lite, this slick and witty spoof is receiving a marvelously acted and directed production that celebrates the victory of style over substance. And with no apologies necessary, thank you.
Slithering their way in, around and between Mr. Holmes' maniacally seamless plot is the finely tuned quartet of Ted Deasy, Kate Hodge, Phoebe Jonas and Daniel Gerroll. Suave and polished, with precise comic timing, they make it look easy.
THE STAR-LEDGER _________________________
Dan Kuchar's excellent set offers a perfect place for a perfect piece of summertime fun. Playwright Rupert Holmes turns out to be just as smart as his namesake Sherlock. He is, however, a good deal funnier. As many chills and spills as there are in Accomplice, there are even more hearty belly laughs.
ASBURY PARK PRESS _________________________
If the opening-night crowd is any indicator, Accomplice is a show that has the audience laughing out loud, gasping, talking back - and, it might be said, involved to a degree that they probably never thought possible.
TWO RIVER TIMES _____________________________
For all its mysterious goings-on, Accomplice is very funny. All of the actors are real good. None is ever who he seems and yet all are always in character.
If they [the readers] don't see Accomplice it's their loss.
PRINCETON PACKET _________________________
Accomplice is Two River Theater Company's first try at summer theater, and from all appearances a huge success. Director Daniel Gerroll knows exactly how to pull the laughs as well as the gasps from an audience.
THE COASTER _________________________
If you plan on seeing Accomplice (and we suggest you do) go with an open mind. This murder comedy has twists and turns that can set one's attention spinning.
TALKIN' BROADWAY _________________________
Accomplice is a beguiling trifle which will nicely cap any lazy summer's day. A major part of the pleasure comes from the witty and intelligent dialogue that Holmes generously provides. Under the sure-handed, deceptively light direction of Daniel Gerroll, each actor gives a well calibrated performance. The design work is flawless. It is easily clever enough to provide a full measure of entertainment in the first rate production it is now receiving.
